Master Bathroom at Mill Neck Manor Designer's Showcase 2008 Venetian plaster finish with gold and bronze colors on ceiling by Yi Ping Boaro Decorative Painting
Reminiscent of the 18th Century at Chestnut Manor Designer's Showcase 2011
For the hallway walls, I combined metallic plaster with gold and pearl colors. On the main wall, I created the look of 18th century satin fabric wallpaper using a scroll design and damask pattern in the center.
On either side of the main wall are four oval Trompe L’oeil paintings. Two are portraits of typical 18th century women and the others represent the fashion of the time. The gold frame with the teal and gold silk ribbons embellishes the elegance.
On the far side of the wall is a Trompe L’oeil relief sculpture frame of birds and flower garlands. I chose the lighthearted subject of children with a dog to bring out the playful possibilities of the Rococo style.
Painted chair rails with raised panels, finish the lower halves of the walls and as your eyes wander up toward the center of the ceiling you will notice a soft wash of pearl, hand painted moldings with a metallic bronzing frame offering a pleasing contrast between the ceiling and walls.
